Why do AI agents need a residential IP?

Most anti-bot systems (Cloudflare, Turnstile, Akamai, DataDome) block or challenge datacenter IPs. Agents running from cloud servers get flagged. A residential/mobile IP from a real device passes those checks, so the agent can browse and act like a person.

The managed Cloud relay is €2 per GB, pay-as-you-go — no monthly fee, no minimum, no cap. Self-hosting the open-source relay on your own device, or federating your own relay with a HumanProxy account, is free.

Yes. Traditional providers buy and maintain a large pool of residential IPs and charge around €8/GB. HumanProxy uses IPs from devices you already own, so its only cost is relay bandwidth — €2/GB flat, and self-hosting is free.

Point your agent, headless browser or HTTP client at the HumanProxy SOCKS5 endpoint (host and port from the dashboard). It works with Playwright, Puppeteer, Selenium, curl, and any tool that supports a SOCKS5 or HTTP proxy.
